You can put this solution on YOUR website!
I don't know how you got to that.
But for this problem I will assume you are right.
you take the sqrt(23/2) and get a number for it.
sqrt(11.5)
put it in your calculator
so there are two answers
3+ that and
3- that
You have to learn how to write in math language.
sqrt(23/2)
sqrt%2823%2F2%29

You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Your original equation was:
%28x%2A-3x%29%2B8=0
suppose * = 2. then we have a quadratic of the form
%28x2-3x%29%2B8=0
which can easily be solved using the quadratic formula as
x+=+%283+%2B-+sqrt%28+9-4%2A1%2A8+%29%29%2F%282%2A1%29+
which is simplified as
x+=+%283+%2B-+sqrt%28-23%29%29%2F2+
From here you have one of two ways to go.
(1) if you have never been shown imaginary numbers, then say no solution.
(2) If you have been shown imaginary numbers, then say
%283+%2B+isqrt%2823%29%29%2F2 , %283+-+isqrt%2823%29%29%2F2
