You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2h%5E2+-+h+-3+=0

Begin by factoring the trinomial. If you have trouble factoring see my Lesson Plans on Factoring, in particular "Advanced Trinomial Factoring." This one for sure is on my website, click on my tutor name "rapaljer" in algebra.com and go to Basic Algebra, Samples from Basic Algebra: One Step, Chapter 2.

2h%5E2+-+h+-3+=0
%282h+____%29%28h+_____%29=0

Last times last has to be -3, so try this:
%282h-3%29%2A%28h%2B1%29+=+0
There are two solutions:
2h-3 = 0
2h=3
n=3/2

h+1= 0
h=-1
