x%5E2+%2B+5x+-+14+=+0 Solve by factoring.
%28x+-+2%29%28x+%2B+7%29+=+0 Apply the zero product principle.
%28x+-+2%29+=+0 and/or %28x+%2B+7%29+=+0
If x+-+2+=+0 then, x+=+2
If x+%2B+7+=+0 then, x+=+-7
The roots are:
x = 2
x = -7
