You can put this solution on YOUR website!
A helicopter drops a supply package from an altitude of 625 ft. How long is the package in the air?

Step 1. The equation for this problem is h=%281%2F2%29%2Agt%5E2 where

g is the acceleration given as 32 ft/sec^2 and h is the height.

Step 2. Here, h=625 and g=32 ft/sec^2.

Step 3. Rearrange h=%281%2F2%29gt%5E2

Multiply 2/g to both sides:

%282%2Fg%29%2Ah=%282%2Fg%29%2A%281%2F2%29gt%5E2

2%2Ah%2Fg=t%5E2

t%5E2=2%2A625%2F32

t%5E2=39.0625

t=6.25 seconds

Step 4. ANSWER. The package is in the air for 6.25 seconds.

I hope the above steps were helpful.
