You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2x%5E2-35=15 Start with the given equation.

2x%5E2=15%2B35 Add 35 to both sides.

2x%5E2=50 Combine like terms on the right side.

x%5E2=%2850%29%2F%282%29 Divide both sides by 2 to isolate x%5E2.

x%5E2=25 Reduce.

x=0%2B-sqrt%2825%29 Take the square root of both sides

x=sqrt%2825%29 or x=-sqrt%2825%29 Break up the expression

x=5 or x=-5 Take the square root of 25 to get 5

So the solutions are x=5 or x=-5

Ok, try this!
2x%5E2-35+=+15 Add 35 to both sides.
2x%5E2+=+50 Now divide both sides by 2.
x%5E2+=+25 Finally, take the square root of both sides.
x+=+5 or x+=+-5
