the general equation for the axis of symmetry is x=-b/(2a)

in this case, since b=0 (no x term), the equation for the axis of symmetry is x=0

the axis of symmetry goes through the vertex __ so the x-coordinate is 0

substituting __ y=0^2-5 __ y=-5

vertex is at (0,-5)
