    65 + 0.26*m = 83   dollars,


where "m" means miles;  then solve it

    0.26m = 83 - 65 = 18,

       m            = 18/0.26 = 69.23  miles.    ANSWER


Or solve it in one single line

    m = %2883-65%29%2F0.26 = 18%2F0.26 = 69.23 miles

and get the same answer.


Probably, they want you round 69.23 to 69 miles.
