If your problem was -34+=+%283d%2B8%29%2F3, which I think it was, then I don't see that you did ANYTHING wrong!! It looks good to me!!

-34 = 3D + 8
Reorder the terms:
-34 = 8 + 3D
Solving
-34 = 8 + 3D
Solving for variable 'D'.
Move all terms containing D to the left, all other terms to the right.
Add '-3D' to each side of the equation.
-34 + -3D = 8 + 3D + -3D
Combine like terms: 3D + -3D = 0
-34 + -3D = 8 + 0
-34 + -3D = 8
Add '34' to each side of the equation.
-34 + 34 + -3D = 8 + 34
