The price of the shirt is 24 and has been reduced by one quarter, that is 1/4. We do the division and have 1/4= 0.25 and 0.25*100= 25%. The price was reduced by 25%.
Now:
24-.25(24)= 18. To this we have to add VAT 20%:
18+.20(18)= 21.60 is how much you have to pay, with VAT
