You can put this solution on YOUR website! Dana has 5x more Apples the Tony. But in all they have 18.
------------
5x more = 6 times as many
----
D = Dana's apples, T = Tony's
T + 6T = 18
7T = 18
T = 18/7
Tony has 18/7 apples
Dana has 108/7 apples
-----------------------
Don't accept arguments that 5x more = 5x as many, whether it's the teacher or the book.
If that's true, then what is 50% more? Half as much?
5 times more is a 500% increase --> 600% as much.
