You can put this solution on YOUR website! I noticed the question asks "What is the probability that one of them will not be alive in 20 years time?" Interpreting this, it is asking what the probability is that ONE, and only one, of them will not be alive in 20 years. (Meaning, the other one will be alive.) It does NOT ask "What is the probability that AT LEAST ONE of them will not be alive in 20 years?" So, that's how I'm going to answer the question.
Probability of husband alive and wife dead: (0.6) * (0.3) = 0.18
Probability of husband dead and wife alive: (0.4) * (0.7) = 0.28
Probability of exactly ONE "not alive": 0.18 + 0.28 = 0.46
