12+15 = 27 pancakes total so far

Let x = number of banana pancakes

x banana pancakes out of 27+x total gives the probability x/(27+x)

we want this probability to be 1/10, so,

x/(27+x) = 1/10
10*x = 1*(27+x)
10x = x+27
10x - x = 27
9x = 27
x = 27/9
x = 3

You need 3 banana pancakes
