Question 1176377: which number is less than -2
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! any number that is to the left of -2 on the number line is less than -2.
any number whose absolute value is greaer than the absolute value of -2 but whose sign is negative, is also less than -2.
example:
-4 is to the left of -3 on the number line.
absolute value of -4 is equal to 4 and absolute value of -2 is equal to 2.
4 is greater than 2, so -4 is less than -2.
