"After a discount of 37%, the sale price for a book was $32.09. What was the regular price.
I've tried many different equations...I'm missing something here.
x+.37x=32.09 ...I get 23.42. Please help...ty :)

The discount has to be subtracted from the regular price
x - .37x = 32.09
:
.63x = 32.09
x = 32.09%2F.63
x = $50.94 is the regular price
