Question 20641
<pre><font face = "courier new" size = 4>
Factor (f+4)(2f-3) + (f+4)(f+4) completely
<b>
Observe the two factors I've colored red

<font color = "red">(f+4)</font>(2f-3) + <font color = "red">(f+4)</font>(f+4)

You can factor out that red factor <font color = "red">(f+4)</font> because it is common to
both terms. That will leave the two black factors inside the blue
brackets:

<font color = "red">(f+4)</font><font color = "blue">[</font>(2f-3) + (f+4)<font color = "blue">]</font>

Now simplify by removing parentheses inside the blue brackets

<font color = "red">(f+4)</font><font color = "blue">[</font>2f-3+f+4<font color = "blue">]</font>

<font color = "red">(f+4)</font><font color = "blue">[</font>3f+1<font color = "blue">]</font>

Change the blue brackets to black parentheses and color the red
factor black:

(f+4)(3f+1)
