Question 134823
Graph 2x-5y=10.
I have 2x-2x-5y=10-2x
-5y = -2x+12
-5y/-5= -2x+12

{{{2x-2x-5y=10-2x}}}  That's ok.

{{{-5y=-2x+12}}} Where did the 12 come from? It is still 10.

{{{-5y=-2x+10}}} Now you can divide both sides by -5

{{{(-5y)/-5=(-2x+10)/-5}}}

{{{y=(2/5)x-2}}} which is the same thing as {{{y=2x/5-2}}} and it is most assuredly -2 not +2 as you indicated.  That is unless you stated the problem incorrectly in the first place and it really is {{{2x-5y=-10}}}
