Question 133968
If {{{f(x) = sqrt(x)}}} and {{{g(x) = 4x+4}}} find the composite function:
{{{f(g(x))}}}
{{{f(4x+4) = sqrt(4x+4)}}} Simplify.
{{{f(g(x)) = sqrt(4(x+1))}}}
{{{f(g(x)) = 2sqrt(x+1)}}}
This composite function will remain real as long as {{{x >=0}}}
When {{{x<0}}} the composite function will become imaginary.
The domain (the set of all possible values of the independent variable (x)) is:
{x|x>=0}
