Question 133412
Determine the equation of each line. Write the answers in standard form using only integers as the coefficients.

The line through (0,9) that is parallel to the line 3x+5y=15

    First find the slope of the line 3x+5y= 15. i.e bring it to the std form
   y=mx+c, 5y = -3x+15  or y = (-3/5)x+15.hence m=(-3/5)

  Let the required eq'n be   m(x-x1) = (y-y1).The line passes thro'h (0,9)

  and slope m = (-3/5).substitute these values in the req'ed eq'n

  we get -(3/5)(x-0)=(y-9)

           -3(x-0) = 5(y-9)  [multiply by 5 on both sides]

            -3x-0 = 5y-45
            5y+3x = 45  is the req'd eq'n
