Question 122339

I'm not sure what you meant by '3square root of 800' but your answer, which is
actually {{{800/3}}}, is incorrect.

Since {{{V=s^3}}}, {{{s=root(3,V)}}} or in this case, {{{s=root(3,800)}}}

Just to give a sense of proportion, consider the product {{{9*9*9=729}}} and
the product {{{10*10*10=1000}}}. Since {{{729<800<1000}}}, we know that
{{{root(3,729)<root(3,800)<root(3,1000)}}} which is to say {{{9<root(3,800)<10}}} -- putting it into words,
the cube root of 800 is somewhere between 9 and 10.

Using the Windows calculator, I get {{{root(3,800)= 9.28317}}} (plus a bunch
more digits that are meaningless) which rounds to {{{9.283}}}.
