Question 122131
: A gym charges a $25 initial fee and $5 per visit. You were billed $200 at the end of the year. Write an equation that can be used to find the number of times, t, you visited the gym. How many times did you visit the gym?

I have already tried 200=5t+25 for the first one, but I don't think that it is right.
For the second one, I got 40, because 200/5= 40, but I am just checking with you to see if I am correct. I need the answers by Friday, the 25th.(1/25/08)
:
The equation is right
to clarify:
$5 times no.of visits + initial fee = 200
which is:
5t + 25 = 200; which is what you had
:
Solving for t, however:
5t + 25 = 200
5t = 200 - 25; subtracted 25 from both sides
5t = 175
t = 175/5
t = 35 visits

:
Check solution in original equation
5(35) + 25 =
175 + 25 = 200
