Question 120501
How do I find the y-intercept for -x + 3y = 15?
-------------------------------------------------
First, put the equation into y=mx+b form. Then, the slope is just the 'm' term.
{{{-x+3y=15}}}
{{{3y=x+15}}}
{{{y=x/3+5}}}
So, your slope is just the 'm' term, (the coefficient of x):
{{{highlight(m=1/3)}}}
