Question 120469
Hopefully, this is what your problem looks like:
{{{((3/(x-5))+1)/(1-(4/(x-5)))}}}
the first step is to rationalize the denominators. To do this, multiply the numerator and denominator by the "Least Common" of the sub-denominators. In this case, that LCD is x-5. Multiplying top and bottom by x-5 gives:
{{{(3+x-5)/(x-5-4)}}}
Simplify a little and you are done:
{{{highlight((x-2)/(x-9))}}}
