Question 945295
.
The base of an isosceles triangle is 3 more than 2 times the length of the legs
and the perimeter is 23. What is the length of the base?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you read this fragment "The base of an isosceles triangle is 3 more than 2 times the length of the legs",
you can immediately throw this "problem" to the closest garbage bin, since it describes
a situation which NEVER may happen: such a triangle does not exist, because
the triangle inequality is VIOLATED.
Simply the person who created this "problem", does not know Math, does not know basic Math conceptions,
as well as their inter-relations, and does not know basic Math terminology.
But this does not stop him from inventing flawed Math "problems" and circulating them on the Internet.
Also, ignore the "solution" by @lwsshar3, since it is nonsense of the same degree as the "problem" itself.
