Question 1182443
.
What is the momentum of a fuel tanker moving to the west that has a loaded tonnage of 800000 tons
( lets use metric tons .. 1 ton = 1000 kg ) and a speed of 36.0 mph in kg*m/s
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        Calculations in the post by @mananth are  TOTALLY  and  FATALLY  incorrect
        I came to bring a correct solution.
<pre>
loaded tonnage of 800000 tons
800000*1000 = 8*10^8 kg
speed = 36 mph
1 mile = 1609.34 meters
Momentum P = m * v
P= {{{8*10^8 * ((36*1609.34)/3600)}}} = 12,874,720,000 kg.m/s
</pre>
Solved correctly, properly and accurately.
