Question 117259
If the radius of the base of a cylinder is increased by 50% and its height decreased in the ratio 4:9, how will its volume be changed?
-------------
Original Volume:
V = (pi)r^2 h
----------------
New Volume:
V = (pi)((3/2)r)^2((4/9)h)
V = (pi)(9/4)r^2(4/9)h
V = (pi)r^2h
-----------------
Surprisingly the Volume is not changes at all.
