5^2+2^2=C^2
25+4=C62
29=C^2
C=SQRT29
C=5.385 IS THE ANSWER.
TO ROUND TO THE NEAREST TENTHS (3) YOU LOOK AT THE DIGIT TO THE RIGHT OF THE 3.
IF IT IS 5 OR GREATER YOU NEED TO ADD A 1 TO THE 3 AND ZERO OUT ALL DIGITS TO THE RIGHT OF THE TENTH'S POSITION AFTER ADDING THE 1.
C=5.400
HOPE THIS HELPS.

ASSUMING YOU HAVE A RIGHT TRIANGLE WITH SIDES=A & B & THE HYPOTENUSE IS C.
THEN: A^2+B^2=C^2
-----------------------------------------
LET A=5 & B=6 THEN WE HAVE:
5^2+6^2=C^2
25+36=C^2
61=C^2
C=SQRT61
