Question 1203700
.
A company manufactures high-end racing bicycles.
The total cost to manufacture 26 bikes is $ 28430.
the daily fixed costs are $ 3990 fixed costs refers to expenses that must paid even when
producing zero bikes such as rent utilities etc.
asume that total costs, is {{{highlight(cross(leniarly))}}} {{{highlight(highlight(linearly))}}} related
to the numbers of bicycles, x, that the company manufactures.
(A) the cost function (write in a function notation C(x)=mx+b)
(B) the total cost to manufacture 25 bikes is $
(C) the cost to produce each additional bike is $
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
        The natural order to answer questions is  (C),  (A),  (B).
        I will answer in this order.
<pre>
(C)  the cost to produce each additional bike is  {{{(28430-3990)/26}}} = 940 dollars.
     It is SO CLEAR that does not require further explanations.
(A)  The cost function is  C(x) = 940*x + 3990  dollars.
     So,  m= 940 dollars per bike;  b= 3990 dollars.
(B)  the total cost to manufacture 25 bikes is C(25) = 940*25 + 3990 = 27490 dollars.
</pre>
Solved.
