Question 1199233
Hi
Bob left A at 4.20pm travelling to B which was 600km at an average speed of 108km per hour. Joe left A at 5pm at an average speed of 124km per hour. How long did joe take to catch up with Bob.

Thanks
<pre>Let time Joe takes to catch up to Bob be T
Then time Bob takes to get to the catch-up point = {{{matrix(1,3, T + 40/60, or, T + 2/3)}}}

We then get the following DISTANCE equation: {{{matrix(4,3, 124T, "=", 108(T + 2/3), 124T, "=", 108T + 72, 124T - 108T, "=", 72, 16T, "=", 72)}}}

                Time Joe takes to catch up to Bob, or {{{highlight_green(matrix(1,7, T, "=", 72/16, "=", 4&8/16, or, highlight(matrix(1,2, 4&1/2, hours))))}}}

The 600 km mentioned had absolutely NIL to do with the solution to this problem. It's possible that it could've been mentioned
in order to distract/confuse the reader! Who knows!!</pre>
