A guy wire is 20’ long and is attached to the top of power poles that are 8’ apart. 
If the lowest point of the guy wire is 12’ from the bottom of the poles, how tall are the power poles ?


This isn’t a catanary curve. I solved this problem by adding 12ft to 10ft, as half of the guy wire would be 10ft. Thank you!

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;THEREFORE, &nbsp;to future generations of students, &nbsp;who will read this post,

&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;my advise is do not take this &nbsp;" problem " &nbsp;seriously and do not trust to its any &nbsp;" solutions ".

In the last several days I observe a flow of non-sensical and semi-nonsensical posts,

created by incompetent &nbsp;" Math composers "&nbsp;.



I want to warn that, &nbsp;if this phenomenon continue, &nbsp;I will write a message to the managers of this project,

asking them to &nbsp;REMOVE &nbsp;such  "&nbsp;composers " &nbsp;from their positions at the project,
for their permanent inability to provide a correct/proper input.
