It&#39;s apparently easy to post pictures online; then you can include the link to the picture in your message to us.  I have no experience doing this -- but you can learn how by googling something like &quot;posting pictures online&quot;.&lt;br&gt;
Re-post, including a link to picture of the graph you are given, and making it more clear what you have been trying.&lt;br&gt;

The problem with your post was that you said you wanted to know how to &quot;widen the graph horizontally by 2 units&quot;.  But there is no transformation that widens a graph by a given number of units.&lt;br&gt;
What you meant to say (according to the solution you posted) was that you wanted to widen the graph BY A FACTOR OF 2.&lt;br&gt;
And as you found, the way to do that is replace &quot;x&quot; with &quot;(1/2)x&quot;.&lt;br&gt;
