Question 1184092
I see that this question isn’t answered when it seems a little bit simple

Let x  and y be the points owned by Emma and Amanda. It is given that they together have 1,050 points. Therefore;
x + y = 1050
And it is also give that Amanda has 3{{{2/3}}} times as many points as Emma. that is;
y = (3 + {{{2/3}}})x
   = (9+2/3)x
y = {{{(11/3)}}}

Now substituting this value of y in the first equation and solving for x, we get;
                        x + y = 1050
                        x + {{{11x/3}}} = 1050
                        3x+11x/3 = 1050
                        14x = 1050 * 3
                            x = {{{3150/14}}}
                               = 225

Therefore Emma has 225 points.
