Regarding the signs  &nbsp;" > "  &nbsp;and  &nbsp;" < ",  &nbsp;&nbsp;we use  &nbsp;" < " &nbsp;in such problems to describe what happens &nbsp;&nbsp;INSIDE &nbsp;&nbsp;the interval,


and we use &nbsp;" > " &nbsp;to describe what happens &nbsp;OUTSIDE&nbsp; the interval.
