Question 1183041
.
I've come up to bat 100 times and got 35 hits for a .350 batting average.
I want to improve my batting average to .400. What's the equation that tells me how many consecutive hits
I will need that also takes into account each additional at-bat's impact?

<pre>
The equation you are asking for is

    {{{(35+n)/(100+n)}}} = 0.4.

Since you ask about an equation only, I stop my explanation at this point
and do not go further to explain how to solve it.
