Question 1181952
To the student....
(1) Indeed, this collection of words is mathematical nonsense.
But I have been seeing this kind of language a lot recently, so some teaching source somewhere is apparently teaching the nonsense.
"log base x to the power y" is not correct mathematical language. I assume what is meant is {{{log(x,(y))}}}; but the language for that expression is "log base x of y".
(2) So your post apparently means this:
{{{log(4,(k))=log(8,(y+1))}}}
But your post says nothing about what we are supposed to do with that equation....
If you actually have a question about this, re-post -- using the correct mathematical language and asking an actual question.
