  3x^2+6x+7x+14=0
  3x(x+2)+7(x+2)=0..NOTE THAT THIS COULD BE WRITTEN DIRECTLY FROM FIRST TWO STEPS NAMELY 14+3x(x+2)=-7x
              14+3x^2+6x+7x=0
  but i showed you the working to do any other problem.
  so (x+2)(3x+7)=0
       x+2=0   OR   3x+7=0
        x=-2     OR  3x=-7..x=-7/3
