Question 1178401
.
a wedge is cut from a cylinder of radius 3m by two planes, one perpendicular to the axis of the cylinder
and the other passing through the diameter of the section made by the first plane and inclined to this plane
at an angle of 45 degree. find the volume of the wedge?

.

For this special case,  use the formula for the volume of cylindrical wedge

        V = {{{(2/3)*r^3*tan(angle)}}} = {{{(2/3)*3^3*1}}} = 2*9 = 18 m^3.
