According to your description of the drawing, one part of the roofline forms the hypotenuse of a right triangle where one leg is one-half of the horizontal distance from eave to eave (namely 24 feet), and the other leg is the desired distance *[tex \Large h].  Use Pythagoras to calculate the desired distance or look up a Pythagorean triple with 25 and 24 as two of the numbers.
