Question 1173004
.

From the first equation, express   x = {{{(17+3y)/4}}}    and substitute it into the second equation.

You will get then the quadratic equation for single unknown  x.

Simplify it;  reduce to the standard form quadratic equation and then

solve it using the quadratic formula.

It is a long way,  and I wish good luck to you  (!)
