Question 1169291
<font face="Times New Roman" size="+2">

Since they are going in opposite directions, their speeds are additive. 12 + 8 = 20. So they are approaching each other at 20 km/hr. Since it is a 2 km track, it takes 1/10 of an hour to complete a circuit at 20 km/hr. 1/10 hour is 6 minutes. So they will meet in 6 minutes, and the faster one will have traveled 12 km/hr times 1/10 hour - 1.2 km and the slower one will have traveled 8 km/hr times 1/10 hour - 0.8 km.
