*[tex \LARGE \sin\theta] is the side opposite the angle divided by the hypotenuse.  *[tex \LARGE \cos\theta] is the side adjacent to the angle divided by the hypotenuse.  *[tex \LARGE \tan\theta\ =\ \frac{\sin\theta}{\cos\theta}].  Then cotangent is the reciprocal of tangent, secant is the reciprocal of cosine, and cosecant is the reciprocal of sine.
