Question 1163833

Instead of doing your work for you I will do this problem instead,
which is exactly like yours, only with the numbers changed.

if a pair of complementary angles are in the ratio 5:13, find them. :)

Let the complementary angles be x° and 90°-x°.

x°:(90°-x) = 5:13

The product of the means equals the product of the extreme:

(90°-x)(5) = (x°)(13)

90∙5 - 5x = 13x

  450 - 5x = 13x

       450 = 18x

        25 = x

So one angle is 25° and the other is 90°-25° = 65°

Now use this as a guide to doing your problem.
