Question 107899
These two equations would be two seperate points. 2y=5 would be one and x+6=0 would be another. To solve this, you get the variables ( x and y ) alone.

The first problem: 2y=5
Solution:
2y=5
---------------------------------------------------------------
1/2*2y=1/2*5
You would multiply this number by the reciprical( flip number upside down so 2 would be 1/2) or divide it( 2y/2). Make sure you do either way to both sides though.
----------------------------------------------------------------
After doing this you would get the answer...

y=5/2 or y=2.5
-----------------------------------------------------------------
Now for the second problem: x+6=0
Solution:
x+6=0
-----------------------------------------------------------------
x+6-6=0-6
You subtract 6 from BOTH sides to get x (the variable)by itself
-----------------------------------------------------------------
So... x=-6
-----------------------------------------------------------------
               Therefore your two points would be (0,2.5) and (-6,0)
