Question 1161069
MRSA is a bacterium, NOT a virus. People need to understand the difference, and your teacher should know this. Why? For one, viruses are not treatable by taking antibiotics, as those only work for bacterial infections.

Yes, sometimes when a virus has infected a person, a doctor will prescribe antibiotics as a protective measure against secondary bacterial infections, but that is not to treat the primary viral infection. <br>

{{{ N = N[0]e^(rt) }}}<br>

t=0 for 1997  ===>  {{{ N[0] = 4060 }}}<br>

Use the 2003 data to find r (in 2003, t=6 yrs):
{{{ 7455 = 4060e^(r*6) }}}
{{{ ln(7455/4060) = r*6 }}}
{{{  r= 0.1012836 }}}<br>

So we have the full equation:
{{{ N = 4060e^(0.1012836*t) }}}

For 2011, t=14:
{{{ N = 4060e^(0.1012836*14) }}} = {{{ highlight( 16762.65 ) }}}
