The symbols used are not clear....<br>
In "(AUB)^C", I would assume "U" to represent a union of sets -- but "U" is used in the problem to denote the universal set.  So there is some confusion there -- although if U is the universal set then "AUB" would have no meaning....<br>
Also in that same expression, the "^" seems to be used as the symbol for an intersection of sets -- but you use "∩" later to indicate an intersection.  So I have no idea what the "^" represents.<br>
And the statement that "(AUB)^C={5,16,17}" doesn't help to determine what the symbols mean, because I don't see any way to get the set {5,16,17} from the given sets A, B, and C.<br>
