Question 106182
I'm not sure I understand your first step where you say "2.2 = 4" and I think that is where you got off track.

{{{(2.2^2)^3}}} is the original problem.

The first step is to square 2.2:

{{{2.2^2=2.2*2.2=4.84}}}

The second step is to cube this result:

{{{4.84^3=4.84*4.84*4.84=113.3799}}}

You should round your answer to one decimal place, i.e. 113.4, because the most accuracy you had at the start, the number 2.2, was a single decimal place. If the problem had been stated thus:

{{{(2.2000^2)^3}}}, THEN it would be proper to carry your result to four places.
