Question 1150616
<pre>
Let's make up a couple of random fractions and see if it works:

Say 7/8 and 2/9

We check to see if the quotient of these two fractions

{{{matrix(1,13,7/8,divided,by,2/9,"",""="","",7/8,""*"",9/2,"",""="",63/16)}}}
</pre>is the reciprocal of the product of those two fractions.<pre>
The product of these two fractions is

{{{matrix(1,11,7/8,""*"",2/9,"",""="","",14/72,"",""="","",7/36)}}}

and the reciprocal of that product is:

{{{36/7}}}

But 36/7 is approximately the decimal 5.142857143
and 63/16 is exactly the decimal 3.9375

So, the statement is false in general.

It's only true if both fraction are either equal to 1 or -1,
For instance, it's true for the two fractions 5/5 and 7/7 or
for the two fractions 9/9 and -13/13, and similar cases.
