By "...work to its simplest form..." do you mean "solve for x"?
I'll assume that's what you mean.
{{{2x^2-26x = 60}}} Subtract 60 from both sides.
{{{2x^2-26x-60 = 0}}} Factor 2 from the trinomial.
{{{2(x^2-13x-30) = 0}}} Now factor the trinomial in parentheses.
{{{2(x-15)(x+2) = 0}}} so...
{{{x = 15}}} or {{{x = -2}}}
