Question 103866
you said:

If {{{f(x)=-2x-5 }}}find {{{f(-1) }}}

Show work below:

I came up with this but I don't know if it is right?

{{{-2*-1-5=-7}}}  here, you are multiplying {{{-2}}} by {{{-1}}}and it is equal {{{+2 }}}

so (-1,-7) are the points? no, these are {{{not}}}the points

you need to do it this way:

If {{{f(x)=-2x-5}}}, then {{{f(-1) }}} will be:

{{{f(-1) = -2(-1) - 5}}}

{{{f(-1) = 2 - 5}}}

{{{ f(-1) = -3}}}    result
