Question 1134919

Evaluate the expression, given functions f and h:

{{{f(x) = 3x-1}}},

{{{h(x) = -2x^2 + 3x - 7}}}

to evaluate: {{{f(5/3) -h(-2)}}}

first find {{{f(5/3)}}}:

{{{f(x) = 3x-1}}}....plug in {{{x=5/3}}}

{{{f(5/3) =3(5/3)-1}}}

{{{f(5/3) =cross(3)(5/cross(3))-1}}}

{{{f(5/3) =5-1}}}

{{{f(5/3) =4}}}

do same for {{{h(-2)}}}

{{{h(x) = -2x^2 + 3x - 7}}}......... plug in {{{x=-2}}}

{{{h(-2) = -2(-2)^2 + 3(-2) - 7}}}

{{{h(-2) = -2(4) - 6 - 7}}}

{{{h(-2) = -8 - 6 - 7}}}

{{{h(-2) = -21}}}

and now subtract

{{{f(5/3) -h(-2)=4-(-21)=4+21=25}}}
