Question 1134668
.

Your problem, as it is formulated and presented, has an "underwater stone".

The volume is given in cubic feet, while the specific gravity goes with no measuring unit, at all.

But I know "the numbers", and I know that 2.742 is the marble's specific gravity measured in g/cm^3 or tons/m^3.

Actually, Weight = specific gravity * Volume,

but this formula assumes that all the values go with coherent (=consistent) units.

At this point I will stop my tales.

My impression is that you retrieve your problems from a VERY OLD source . . .
